The Boat Club, founded in 1847, is on the banks of the River Wear overlooked by Durham Cathedral. Pupils from the school have gone on to represent Great Britain at Junior, University and Senior World Championships, Commonwealth and Olympic Regattas. In the last season crews from the school have raced at Mens and Womens Head, won medals at National Schools and National Championships and gained GB selection. Coaches are staff, parents and rowers in their own right, with ARA coaching qualifications and International rowing and coaching experience.
